Ellie Schmidt '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ellie Schmidt and I am currently a Sophomore at Gilbert High School in Gilbert, AZ in the graduation class 2023. I am a 5'8 pin hitter and defensive specialist on the Gilbert High School varsity team, as well as East Valley Juniors 16N1 team. I have played volleyball for seven years and hope to continue my career at a collegiate level.

Not only am I motivated on the court, I am just as motivated in my off time. I have a strong passion for almost everything I do and like to succeed not only for myself but for the others around me. I have great time management and currently am taking all honors and an Ap class in addition to playing for both my high school and club team, and am still able to withhold a 4.5 GPA. I was recently granted the opportunity to be apart of the Gilbert High Schools National Honor Society, and will be apart of that club for the next three years. I have been on the Honor Roll and Principals list at Gilbert High School for the past two years and plan to in the future. I am always looking to push myself beyond limits on the court and in the classroom if it means I can succeed along with the others around me.

I am a dependable well grounded person and player and tend to put my teammates and those around me before myself, along with being extremely personable. I am always a great team player on and off the court and make it a priority to have a connection not only with my coaches but each and every other player on the team. If any of my teammates struggle I make sure I am there to build them up and reassure them they can do it why"ll keeping a positive attitude.

Along with playing volleyball in college, I would like to major in physiology with a minor in pre-med to further a career on the path to become a neurophysiologist. I am, and always have been very passionate about helping others and making an impact on their lives. I want to make a difference and if I could even on one single individual, that is my passion.

Weather it is in the classroom or on the court, I look forward to making new teammates and friends, being a leader, further developing in all skills, and making a positive impact on those around me.
