Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Allison Gould and I’m a previous Lib/DS who just this season switched full time to beach volleyball instead of indoor. I started playing volleyball in 6th grade, having little experience and not very big aspirations for a future in volleyball. Currently, I am playing my 5th club season, (1st beach club season), and I'm in love with the sport. I have grown to become a highly competitive person who loves playing volleyball and having fun with my teammates both on and off the court. I have very big goals to play in college and I want to be the best teammate and athlete I can! I hope to be a part of a close knit team with other athletes that also strive to work hard, support one another, and compete. I love going to practice and being challenged by pushing myself past my limits and I'm always trying to focus on the little things to continue improving my game. I’m someone who is willing to put in extra work and do extra reps to get to where I need to be. That willingness has made me a very driven person and while training, I try to focus on both the physical and mental aspects of the game. I find it very important to develop as a smart volleyball player as well as an athletic player. I’m also a very coachable athlete and appreciate the critiques that my coaches give me. I think of myself as someone who brings a lot of energy to the court. I strive to always give 100% as well as encourage and support my teammates to do the same. I also think of myself as a very versatile player. During my indoor days, I played outside hitter for 3 years and played as a lib/DS for 1 year. I am willing to play any position that is needed for the better of the team. I hope that through my hard work and dedication to volleyball that I can achieve my goal of playing at a high level college and becoming a part of a high level program.
