Alexandria "Ally" Wallace '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ally Wallace.  My interest in sports is not limited to only playing volleyball, I want to continue to play volleyball after high school as well as study sports medicine/training in college. My passion for volleyball started at a Nebraska  Cornhuskers versus Colorado Buffs volleyball game In 2009. That was the first time I saw a college volleyball game live and I knew right then my goal was to play volleyball in college one day.  My desire and determination has not stopped and has only increased to reach my goal.  My drive to get better each day and to push myself until I reach my goal definitely makes me unique on and off the court.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to have been asked to write on behalf Alexandria Wallace. I was Ally’s club volleyball head coach during her 16s season at Colorado Momentum Volleyball Club.

It was an absolute pleasure having Ally on my team. Ally is reliable, trustworthy, and very coachable. Arriving to practice, scrimmages, and tournaments early, she is always geared up and ready to go. She is a kid who is always prepared to compete, getting a full warm up in, and mentally preparing herself for the challenge ahead.

Ally began the season as a right side hitter for our team, but more than rose to the occasion when we needed her to step up and play a more consistent role as an outside. Being a versatile player is one of Ally’s greatest strengths and was one of the reasons our team had a lot of success throughout the season. She hits with a very heavy arm, but can also see the court and find a way to get the other team out of system. I would consider Ally to be one of the most competitive kids on our team as we aptly nicknamed her “rugby” for how aggressive she is during practice and chasing down a ball. Always striving to be better, Ally is a self correcting player who constantly is improving her game.

As a teammate, Ally’s team always responded to her well. She is a thoughtful, caring, and funny person. Always making us laugh, she definitely reminded us that volleyball is a sport we all love and enjoy being a part of. She lead through her actions and is a teammate and friend who can always be counted on.

Ally has earned a reputation of being a hard-working, dependable, and success driven volleyball player. I am honored and privileged to have had the opportunity to coach Alexandria Wallace this past season. It was an absolute joy to have her on my team and I highly recommend Ally as she would be a great addition to any team.
