My name is Maddy Barry and I have been playing volleyball for seven years, five which have been at the national club level. My primary position is setter, but this season I am playing middle hitter as well to step up and help my team out. I have been a starter on all my club and high school teams, as well as captain for six seasons. I received the Honorable Mention for my high school team this year, which made it to the Sweet 16. I also received the All-Region Selection for the Great Lakes Power League.
In addition to athletics, academics and extracurriculars have played a big part of my life. I have had straight A's and been on High Honor Roll all three years of high school. I have a cumulative GPA of 4.12 and really like to challenge myself in AP and honors courses. I like to excel in whatever I do and am a very determined person. Out of school, I am involved in youth ministry where we focus on community service. I have a part-time job as well, making time-management one of my strengths.
My dream is to have the opportunity to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I am working very hard to achieve this goal, and I believe I have the qualities needed to play at a high level. I make every effort to have a positive attitude, lead others on and off the court, and play to the best of my abilities. I am an outstanding student-athlete who tries to make a difference to everyone around me and be an asset to my team.
