Personal Statement
I was once asked, if I can be anywhere in this world, where would I be? My answer comes so quickly. It is second nature to me. I want to be on the volleyball court, with my team, playing my heart out so we can win together...
My name is Sophia Hicks, and I am a right side hitter for the class of 2022. I started playing school volleyball in seventh grade, and I started playing club volleyball my freshman year. When I am on the court, I strive to provide a sense of support and dedication to make the team better. I have been told and reminded that I am incredibly coachable, and I believe that I am coachable. I always strive to learn more and grow as a teammate and person on and off of the court.
My top priority is to play volleyball at the collegiate level, while earning a law degree. My education has always been the main priority in my journey through life. I take my school work incredibly seriously and I think that contributes to the player I have become. I have always chosen to take the most difficult courses throughout my high school career, because I love to be challenged. The harder the challenge, the greater the reward. I currently have a 4.05 GPA. Having the ability to play the sport that I love while pursuing my education is the perfect challenge for me.
