My name is Victoria Grace, and I am currently 16 years old. I am a junior in high school and I attend Wakefield Memorial High School in Wakefield, Massachusetts. I am a setter as my primary position, but I also play defensive specialist as my secondary position. I play club volleyball for Mass Impact Volleyball Club. I’ve been told that I have a high volleyball IQ, in which I am working very hard to keep working at to improve each day. I consider myself a leader on the team, almost always knowing where everyone on the court should be in rotations, constantly directing teammates to the correct spot, with patience. I am very open to helping my teammates when in need. I've played AAU Volleyball for numerous years, and been playing at the Varsity level for my high school since Freshman year. I’ve participated in weight room workouts to help with my vertical, strength training for quicker reaction time, and short incriminents of cardio to better my agility, to the best of my ability.
Along with balancing AAU Volleyball throughout the school year, I also play lacrosse. Lacrosse season has helped to improve my play in volleyball because of the endurance that lacrosse contains. From running on the field, with the short and fast sprints, that we perfrom trying to get the ball first, to running up and down the field over and over, it requires a lot of stamina. These extra training sessions have all contributed to my experience with being a dual sport athlete, but all to better my performance on the volleyball court. I am an extremely hard working player, but not only on the court, also in the classroom.
I’ve maintained a 4.1 GPA taking mostly honors classes throughout high school so far, as well as multiple AP courses this year and next year. I am a very diligent learner, always eager to learn more, and better educate myself. I am self motivated am extremely passionate. Sports have always been a huge part of my life, but specifically volleyball, I’ve fallen in love with it. I am very determined to play at the next level. I know this is not going to be easy, but I am willing to put in all my effort possible, and am open to a great number of options. My goal is to find a college in which I can be valued, while playing at the highest level I am able to. This is a huge dream of mine, and I am inclined to continue to work at my very best to achieve this dream.
