Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Ava Bearden and I’ve been playing volleyball for four years. I fell in love with the sport almost immediately. I had a very athletic/competitive childhood and was a multi-sport athlete growing up. The adrenaline, camaraderie and love I feel through playing volleyball is unmatched to any other sport I’ve played. Playing volleyball has led me to friendships, bonds with coaches, and learning general life lessons through the athletic process. I am a setter, so I have the responsibility and compassion to be a leader on the court. I try to lead my teams to victory, but being their teammate is more important than being another coach. I’m a hard worker, dedicated to my team, and try my best with any challenges that are thrown my way. Besides always working my hardest on the court, I am a very focused student. I plan on working in the sports medicine field in my future, and hopefully becoming a student athlete in college.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
