Sydney Salazar '24 Recruiting Profile

My long-term aspiration is to play college volleyball and eventually either go pro and or play with either the USA or Dominican Republic National Volleyball Team.  I also aspire to achieve my lifelong goal of studying criminal law and becoming either a District or a U.S Attorney.  

Something that makes me a fantastic candidate for your team is that I am a tremendous leader amongst my peers. Whenever I see a teammate struggling with a new skill that we are learning or if they are having trouble understanding the coach's instructions, I will never hesitate not to help them out, as I know what it feels like not to understand something—or not being able to do an individual skill correctly while the whole team is doing it perfectly.

 Along with exceptional leadership skills, I also have a cheery and outgoing personality and I love to have fun with everything I do, according to my fellow peers and coaches.  I am not afraid of hard work and dedication and I use my drive and passion for the game to boost my teammates.  During our huddles during timeouts, I always give my teammates pep talks and compliments on how they are playing to boost their confidence, especially if we aren't playing at our best.  

I'm interested in attending a school with a very competitive athletic program, mostly because I have tremendous compassion for the competitive environment.  I also need a school with a strong academic program to match that will equipped me with the tools needed to graduate and allow me to get into law school.  Volleyball is a sport I have love for, and I hope to one day have an opportunity to compete on a collegiate and professional level.
