Hi Coaches I’m Janiah Robinson. I am a junior at Westhill High School in Syracuse NY playing for club VolleyFX. Growing up all I’ve ever known was basketball both my dad and sister played. I believed that I would play just like them until made the decision to try volleyball. Not long after I decided to take volleyball seriously and I fell in love with the sport as a freshman. As a junior, this is my first year playing club due to covid and I’m truly surprised that I didn’t start sooner. Being on many different teams throughout my lifetime I’ve learned to be coachable along with seeing what a great teammate and a great athlete looks like. My ability to pick up any skill thrown at me, listen to criticism, and perform a skill within a short period of time is what makes me a great athlete. Every time I step on the court my only goal is to improve and become a better athlete than I was yesterday. Volleyball has also taught me time management. With school, club volleyball, and school basketball I had to do homework in the car to and from practice or very early in the morning to maintain my grades. I strive to be the best in both school and sports I can possibly be. I want to continue to challenge myself both academically and physically. With the high goals I’ve set for myself I’m hoping to earn a full scholarship to continue playing in college. I’m looking forward to discussing my potential future with your program.
