Integrity is what you do when nobody is looking. Everyday in my academics, instrumental practices, community services, and athletics I carry this mindset. My name is Vince Tarolli, I am a student at Westhill High School in Syracuse, NY. This was my first year swimming with a varsity team, because years before I played for my school’s basketball team. I was captain of the JV basketball team which went 18-2 my sophomore year. However, this year I was NYSPHSAA Section 3 Class B 50 and 100 yard freestyle champion, qualified for the NYSPHSAA Federation Meet in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle, all-league first team, all-area first team, and captain of the team.
From a very young age I've loved being on the water and outdoors. My desire in college is to major in a course that involves marine life and the environment, so that I can help improve it for future generations. Athletically, my goals in college are to be an impactful athlete on the swim team and maximize my potential as a swimmer and teammate.
My ability to manage my time and persevere in all areas academically as well as athletically, will afford me the opportunity to succeed in my post-secondary pursuits. Currently, I have a 96.520 GPA, rank 15 of 134 in my class. I have been on high honor roll every semester, and I am a member of the National Honors Society and Music National Honors Society.
Commitment to the process not the outcome, drives my perseverance. My commitment to helping others and my interest in protecting the environment, drives my pursuits. My integrity means that I will continue to work towards my goals when no one is looking!
