Hello, my name is Amayah White. I am 17 years old in my Senior year of high school at Lejeune High School (LHS) in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Volleyball has been a passion of mine since the 7th grade. I played Junior Varsity (JV) my Freshman year, JV and Varsity my Sophomore year. I have played for Beaufort Volleyball Club since 2015, as well as attended various volleyball camps/clinics, including camps/clinics at the Richmond Volleyball Club in Richmond, Virginia.
I am a hardworking, determined and coachable player, and I am always willing and ready to learn and take criticism when needed in order to get better, whether on the court or in my studies. I always go into practice determined and ready to improve my skills. I’ve always been taught that the way you practice is the way you play, therefore I must give 110% every time I step foot on the court. On the court, I aim to be a dynamic player and a positive influence on the team.
When I’m not on the court, I may spend my time volunteering at church in our children's, student and mission ministries, volunteer in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) leadership meetings and events and Young Life meetings and events. I enjoy volunteering and serving our communities, whether local or abroad on mission trips. I truly work hard to maintain a high GPA and push myself to work harder in the classroom, as well as on the court when needed. I would like to not only find a University in which would benefit and challenge me on the court, but within the classroom as well. I envision my college years to be a personal growth period. My goal is to explore a Behavioral Science major, possibly Psychology or Forensic Psychology, which will position me well for Graduate School and possibly Post Graduate.
