Personal Statement
I am currently a Sophomore with a 3.0 GPA, which reflects my dedication to academics and sports. I attended Minnesota state community and technical college, Fergus falls MN. I have been playing school volleyball since the 3rd grade and JO since the 4th. I've loved the sport from the time I first picked up the volleyball. I was the kid that carried my volleyball around with me, I would practice my serves and passing and setting to myself any chance I got. Middle and outside hitter have been my main positions however I am capable and skilled to play all-around and I have a consistent, reliable jump serve. As I started my career at M state I was signed as a Hitter but moved to a DS early in preseason, I came in early before games and practices to make sure I was doing everything I could to be sucesful.
Being raised by a teenage, single mom, while she attended college full-time has had a major impact on my life and who I am today. I've gained strength, courage, determination and independence while always remembering my roots and the importance of family.
Through volleyball I have learned that teamwork and dedication is invaluable which further supported and enhanced the importance of family, my volleyball family. It has taught me how to "pick myself up after falling", that the game, just like life, doesn't stop because mistakes were made. It has also taught me to stay focused on what is in front of me and not in the past.
I am interested in the field of early childhood ED/Psychology/ LADC and Social Work. I plan on moving to a 4-year college and making the most of my expierence academically and athletically, I am open to any and all 4 Year colleges, I have some interest in growing my faith and seeing where that can take me!
