As a high school athlete I have achieved many of my goals but would like to continue them at the collegiate level. I am a passionate hard working athlete who has dedicated a lot of time into growing myself as a volleyball player. Throughout my 5 years of competing in this sport I have learned a lot through my coaches and about myself as a player. However, I believe I have a lot more to learn as a player and as a person, which can be achieved by hopefully continuing my career as a high caliber student athlete. I would hope to compete at a Division I school while exploring my career paths as a student.
I am a great candidate for the demands of a student athlete. I have participated in several clubs in school and travel teams while balancing the work load of school. I have learned time management, dedication, and the ability to focus when times are stressful. As an athlete I participated at the Varsity level as a freshman and sophomore in high school and I try to lead by example on and off the court. As a team player I look for support through my teammates as I do the same to them. Teamwork is very important to me as a player and without it I believe teams will struggle. I have made efforts to get to know my teammates in order to be successful in life and on the court.
I understand that I am not the only high school athlete aspiring to continue my career in the college atmosphere. What makes me special is that I am always willing to learn something new if it is what is best for the team. I am a versatile player as well as very upbeat. I continue to grow and understand that not every play will be my best but it is how I respond that makes the true difference in the game. Positivity is something I do not take lightly especially in frustrating situations. All of these characteristics are directly related to my academic and personal life. I try to be as positive and adapting to situations in life in order to grow to my full potential.
