Personal Statement
My volleyball journey began in MS my eighth-grade year. New to the game, I had to push myself through more training than my teammates, sought opportunity to play when others rested, and embraced change. If someone would have asked me at the end of my eighth-grade season, ‘do you see yourself playing in college?’ I would have said “no way.” I did not see the potential that my coaches had seen from day one. The untapped, raw, athletic ability that came to the surface was remarkable. Thus began a road to play in college. Two states later, new teammates and coaches, my love for the game has only grown.
Moving several times during childhood made me the strong female I am today. I have been the new kid in class, new teammate, and the new player at the volleyball club. With each move, I was able to cultivate genuine friendships. Friendships that will continue to move with me as I embark on my college career.
I bring an energy to the room/court to make all feel welcome. My work ethic will benefit my new team and my contagious positive energy can bring my teammates back to a fighting spirit when needed. Playing at the collegiate level will feed my desire to play beyond high school and become part of a new volleyball family while seeking a degree in clinical psychology.
