Personal Statement

My name is Teal Tomaszewski.  I am a libero for my high school team at Weyauwega-Fremont High School, Weyauwega, WI.  I also play libero for Fox Cities Elite 17s team out of Appleton, WI.  I have received a varsity letter three years at Weyauwega-Fremont, including being selected to all conference 2nd team my sophomore, and 1st team my junior year.  I was also selected to the Waupaca County All Stars the last two years and my junior year I was selected to the Appleton Post Crescent All Area First Team for Volleyball.  I also accomplished 1,000 career digs for Weyauwega-Fremont.

I would ideally like to go to a moderate size school division 2, or a small division 1.  I am a small town girl who does not want to get lost in the big city.  Financial assistance is important to me since I have an older sister in college.  I would be willing to travel out of state and would like to stay in the midwest.  I have been playing club volleyball since I was 9 yrs. old and I have a strong desire to play at the college level.

I have an older sister that attends school at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI.  She is a member of the LU Vikings volleyball team.  My parents are both teachers and coaches in the Weyauwega-Fremont school district.  My mom, Rena Tomaszewski (Chadron State 1985) is my varsity volleyball coach.  My dad, Richard (UW Oshkosh 1984) is the assistant wrestling coach.  I have two German Shorthair Pointers named Sadie and Reno.

I am very involved in high school clubs and organizations such as FFA, student council, and National Honor Society.  I have an interest in a possible major in Early Childhood.  I like working with kids and animals.  I carry a 3.58 GPA and I am ranked 16th out of 87 in my class.  The top 18 people in my class are all above a 3.5 and taking advanced classes.
