Hard work and dicipline has been a main focus of mine for years both on and off the mat. The success that I have had hasn't come easily but I am more than willing to sacrifice time and sweat to achieve my goals. Whether it means running the extra mile before school, or staying up late to study for a quiz, I understand the cost for achieving greatness. My wrestling career has seen its ups and downs but I believe that I am a better person for it. I have only been given a taste of the success I want to have in my career as an athlete and my appetite for victory has only grown since. My losses up to this point in my life are just as valuable as my wins, for if I hadnt been knocked out of the state tournament before placing in 7th grade, I wouldn't have been motivated to work harder and eventually become a state champion and New England runner-up. I may not be the quickest wrestler, but I know just as well as anyone that with hard work I could eventually achieve my goal of becoming a division 1 wrestler. Academics has always been stressed as the most important focus in my household. I know how important it is to keep good and consistent grades throughout high school, and I believe I have prepared myself for the challenge as best as I can in middle school. I have achieved high honors seven out of eight times during my two years in middle school, as well as an award for literary excellence. I understand that high school isn't going to be a cake walk in both wrestling and school. What I do know is that I have a very supportive family and the right mindset attain to my goals. I only have a few more years to get into the school right for me, and my journey in doing so begins today.
