Owen Cannon '22 Recruiting Profile

I am Owen Cannon, a high school senior in the class of 2022.  I love volleyball! I'm 5'10" and play outside hitter when I can - leading my high school in kills the past 2 seasons and making All-Tidewater second team as an outside hitter after my junior season.  I do whatever it takes to help my team succeed and was named team captain this year.  I've worked very hard indoors and on the beach to improve my vertical leap but also my overall game to become a well rounded and versatile player.  I started as libero for my last two club teams but was moved up to outside hitter/all-around early in each season, but I can play libero and can set if that's needed for the team.  Academics are very important to me - I've maintained a 4.0+ all through high school in an International Baccalaureate program and plan to major in biology or health science, ultimately thinking about going into PA school or medical school.  I am interested in a medium to large college that is academically challenging and offers a variety of opportunities.  I would love to play volleyball at a school that matches my interests and would like to find a team where I can be a significant contributor.
