Five years old, standing at the ten foot line, with knee pads the size of my whole leg, I was starting not only my first volleyball tournament, but my volleyball career. After watching my two older sisters play, and waiting anxiously for the day I could join them on the court, I was finally able to transition from my role as a spectator to a player. Since then, my love for the sport has grown and has developed into a goal to pursue in college.
Volleyball has taught me more than just physical skills. It has taught me to support others, and to remain humble, both on and off the court. The past two years, as a freshman and a sophomore, I earned the position of starting libero on the varsity team. I was also appointed captain during my 2018 club season. Both of these roles further enhanced my leadership skills, and my ability to organize and to support my team, resulting in many successes. I currently have a 4.02 GPA, and I am a diligent student with a planned course load heavy in AP and honors classes.
My love for volleyball continues to strengthen, and I have no doubt that it will continue to flourish as I continue to be a student of the game in college. With my strong academics and athletics, and the passion I bring to both, I feel I will be a great asset to any university I attend.
