Personal Statement
My name is Cameron Turner. I am a setter/opposite from Deer Creek High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA, been the freshman and class president, and am currently the sophomore class president. I have also been the team captain for both my junior high and club teams since I started club at 8 years old. I have had a passion for volleyball for as long as I can remember, and I always have a pursuit to get better at the sport. With two older sisters playing high school, club, and collegiate volleyball, I grew up surrounded by it. The court was my second home, and my close-knit family loved the sport just as much as I did. I understand the mentality of the game is just as important as the physical aspect, and am prepared to give all-out effort every time I touch the ball. I always push myself to improve not only on the court, but also in the classroom. Volleyball has taught me to become a natural leader, challenged my physical and mental abilities, improved my work ethic, and made me a hardworking student and player. I constantly encourage others on the court, keep the game intense, and practice good sportsmanship. I am 6'0” and still growing, and I plan to work as hard as possible in order to achieve my best potential as a volleyball player.
