I have been playing volleyball since I was about 8. It has been my passion for a long time and has made my life better. I have met many people and had more opportunities open up for me because of it. Now, not only do I have my academics to show for but also my athletic abilities. Volleyball allows me to have different types of plans for my future. Before I started volleyball, I was pretty shy but now I can be more open and show more leader attributes. In school, I help others in class who are struggling and give them more support, just as I do in volleyball. Volleyball is a very mental sport and can help you be stronger mentally and physically. I have learned this in my high school volleyball career. Going to a school where volleyball is seen as a major sport can put a lot of pressure on you. The process of being on this particular team can make or break you but it can also teach you to go through it together with your team. Volleyball has helped me through a lot of hard times and at a point had been the only thing I looked forward to. The friends you make, connections you create, and new views of life are a great plus of playing volleyball.
