Alexander Winant '19 Recruiting Profile

During my entire youth, I was always a three sport athlete.  Then during freshman year of high school, I decided that I loved wrestling and I wanted to give it 100% of my focus, aside from academics.   Over the last 2 years, I've become a student of the sport, fascinated with all echelons including, folk style, free style and greco-roman.   I'm learning advanced technique and I'm following the champions of the sport at all levels.   Also I've started competing in some of the major tournaments around the region.  Due to my recent focus on wrestling, some success has followed this last year and this year, including reaching the NJ State Tournament twice and achieving NHSCA Sophomore All-American.   At this stage, I am a very ambitious and motivated athlete and student.    I have worked incredibly hard throughout my entire childhood and high school experience to mold myself into the greatest version of me, and I intend to do the same in college.  In addition to wrestling and my school work, I also have a passion for creative writing.   I aspire to flourish athletically, academically, personally, morally and mentally in college, and wish to bring the best out of myself.   Although I've made great strides recently,  I feel I still have great potential which is only beginning to surface.  I am never daunted or intimidated by anyone else, I know that when I am at my best I can contend with anyone.   I look forward to bringing this positive attitude and my desire to grow into my college experience and hopefully become an All-American,  a great teammate, as well as to achieve a high level of academic success.
