Declan McKevitt '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Declan McKevitt, and I am a Junior, Class of 2021, at West Morris Mendham High School (WMMHS), located in Mendham, NJ. 

I am the starting TE and DE for the Varsity football team.  My high school plays in the newly created NJ Super Football Conference, Group 4, North, a very tough and competitive league that challenges you each week. I enjoy these weekly match ups as I have serious aspirations to play college football and to be a collegiate student-athlete.

Due to my size growing up, I always had to play the offensive line, even though I always wanted to play TE.  My Sophomore season was my first year playing full time as a TE, and I enjoyed the position.  It allowed me to continue with something I am good at, blocking, in addition to having the opportunity to showcase my pass-catching ability and overall speed.

I know I am just starting out in this position and have a ways to go to reach my potential, but I am looking forward to the challenge, as it will only benefit myself and my team.

Below are some of athletic and academic accomplishments:

- Two-year Varsity starter as TE and DE.  

- Junior season averaged 14 yards a catch as a TE.

- Named First Team All-Conference, Defense (DE) for the Patriot Blue Division in the NJ Super Football Conference.

- Named Offense Second Team (TE) for the All Morris Sussex Sport Team

- Sophomore Year (2018) was named Honorable Mention (TE) for the 2018 All Morris Sussex Sports Team.

- I am 17 years old and am currently 6’4” and weigh 220 lbs.  

- 3.0 GPA.
