Personal Statement
I have a long standing passion for working hard to achieve both academic excellence and wrestling success. I have excelled academically for the duration of my school career, as I understand the importance academic success plays in achieving my future goals. I began wrestling when I was 5 years old, transitioning to year-round wrestling after my third season. I immediately began to see the rewards that hard work and complete commitment provide. I really enjoy wrestling because it is a very difficult sport that shows that consistent hard work is crucial to achieving success. I have learned that wrestling is a sport where dedication pays off in the long run. I took this lesson to heart as I prepared for my Sophomore season. Losing in the semi-finals at the state tournament my Freshman season and wrestling back for 3rd place was a turning point in my wrestling career. It motivated me to work harder to win that elusive state championship as a sophomore. My goals for college are to major in computer science or computer engineering while consistently making the Dean’s list. In addition, I am determined to continually push myself athletically to be the best wrestler and teammate possible, while chasing the ultimate dream of competing for individual and team national titles. Thank you for taking the time to consider me and reading my profile.
