Personal Statement
I am a natural leader. I am 15 years old and have accomplished many awards on the basketball court. In 2013, 2014 and 2015 I was voted as the all around MVP of both Coach Jamal Jackson's and J.J. Oliver's men's and women's basketball camps at Bluefield State College, I was Hot Shot Champion and Foul Shot Champion for both camps. I also attended Coach Dennis Wolfe's basketball camp at Virginia Tech for 4 years and was Hot Shot Champion in 2014. I also attended camp at Virginia Tech the two previous years preceding Coach Wolfe. I have been described by many of my coaches as humble, hard working, dedicated, unselfish and an all around team oriented player. Many say I am the best ball handler in our county among boys and girls. I am truly passionate about basketball and learn very quickly. I have never had any issues with any coaches or teammates regarding my attitude.
Currently, I work with William Nichols from Radford, VA. He has been my private coach for going on 5 years. I am also being followed by Jamal Jackson, head coach at Kentucky State University and JJ Oliver, head coach at Tucker High School in Atlanta, GA. My ultimate goal is to have a successful high school career that will allow me to obtain a scholarship to play the sport I love at the next level. I have Selective Mutism, which enables me to not talk in certain situations. However, none of my coaches have ever complained because they say I let my playing to my talking. I have been given the nickname of "Silent Assassin" from a camp I attended and it has followed me for several years now. My personal slogan I write on my hand every day is B+ to remind myself to always be positive.
