Personal Statement

I have many influencers and things that have motivated me throughout my life, that has made me a better person. My family is a huge part of my day to day motivation. I can always count on an uplifting comment from them, and it helps me to continue pushing myself. My friends are also a part of people that have influenced me. I look up to my friends, because they are always very honest and supportive. Older girls on my volleyball team, other high school teams, and college teams are big role models to me. They give me something to strive for and learn from. I always feel more confident and prepared when I get help from someone older who has the same passion as me. I started my volleyball career during my 7th grade year. At that time I wasn’t sure if that was something I saw myself having a passion for. However once I got my priorities straight, eighth grade year I fell in love with the sport. I began to focus on volleyball and that led me to club season. That was my first year of club volleyball and it is an experience I will never forget. I am so proud of my team. Our highest rank throughout the season in the region was 4th. This was partly when I knew that I wanted to play volleyball for as long as possible and become the best I can be. It truly makes me happy and motivated.

Volleyball has taught me so much in life and in athletics. I love spending my time as an outside hitter but I also am involved playing as a middle. It has made me so much more confident in my everyday life, and it feels good knowing I have something I love so much. Its opened my mind into stepping into more opportunities. I have made a lot of new friends through this sport. I have learned more about my personality and how I am a go-getter. It helps me want to continue being coachable and becoming a better player. I want to carry out my love for volleyball through the rest of highschool and college. However, I also focus and work really hard on the academic aspects of school. I strive to have majority A’s and be on the honor roll. I will continue taking honors classes to get that extra bit of knowledge. My long term goals and dreams are in the medical field. I want to go to a college with a great medical school to help better my future and learning. The occupation that interests me the most in the long run is a trauma or pediatric surgeon! I have always been interested in helping others and the sciences behind it. I am open to traveling to different schools outside my area, and big schools definitely interest me as well.

Even with the love and passion obstacles do occur. There have been times of doubt and discouragement for me. Especially when I'm trying so hard to do something but it doesn't work. However you have to go through obstacles at some point in order to help you grow, and I have certainly grown a lot. I really work to be the best I can be in school, athletics, and any other things I take up in my life. Im am involved in Student Council, National Honor Society, and my local youth group. I like to call myself a hard worker because I truly do put in the best effort I can. I am learning to constantly come out of my comfort zone more so I can continue being a leader and experiencing new things with new people. Being a team player is very important to me and I love building strong connections with the players and coaches. I’m looking forward to the college recruiting process and what my future holds as a dedicated volleyball player.

Thankyou for taking your time to read a little about me!
