Personal Statement

I have grown to love the sport of baseball from when I was a toddler.  I started playing organized baseball at age 9.  I knew that pitching was where my heart and comfort zone was.  It's my favorite position because the pitcher controls the game.  I have always been a leader so naturally I gravitated towards pitching.  I believe you lead by example, on and off the field.

I have had awesome experiences playing baseball, some just feel good moments and others which caused my heart to drop from my chest.  The feel good highlight would be when I pitched a complete game (7 innings) on 69 pitches while playing for the Bonnyville AA Bantam Braves defeating the Edmonton Angels 4:3.  But what made me grow as a student athlete, was being told I was to small when trying out for the Edmonton AAA Midget Cardinals.  Then going on to play for the Fort Mcmurray AAA midget Oil giants who gave me the opportunity to pitch for them in my rookie year of midget, I ended up that year have the 6th best ERA in Alberta.  I was 5'3" tall.  This taught me through good work ethic, a never give up attitude and great team support that I can achieve my goals.

I am hoping to attend a College that will allow me to pursue a career in Sports Medicine, while playing baseball at the college level.  I believe I am very coachable and I am always willing to learn more. I give 100% in what ever I do.  For me, location of the School is irrelevant.  I was raised in Northern Alberta where summers on average are 4 months and 20-35 degrees celsius (68F-100F) and winters are as cold as -45 degrees C or F.

I look forward to speaking and eventually meeting coaches who love this game as much as I do and who are looking for all the qualities in which I possess.
