April 2012My name is Alexander Wolfgang Tash, but my family and friends call me Wolfie. I play baseball for Venice High School in Los Angeles, CA. I am 6'2", 190 lbs, and my best 60-yard dash time is a 6.8. Currently, I play Left field, but I also play Center Field, Third Base, and I catch when needed. I have consistantly worked my way to earning the number three or four spot in the starting lineup of every team I have played for. In my Freshman year, I contributed to my Varisty team's trip to CIF Championship in over ten years. Because of that hard work, I earned a starting position on the Varsity team for the following season. This year, as a Junior, I was voted to be the Captain of my team. I do my best to always bring a positive and respectful attitude to the baseball field, because, while most people look at baseball as difficult and demanding, I look at it as a sport that I am blessed to be able to play everyday. I love playing baseball. Because of my postive attitude and actions I am viewed as a leader by my teammates and my coaches. Off the field, I take part in an after school leadership program called Youth and Government (YMCA-CPY) where I earned an award for "Role Media Member of the Year." In addition, I coached a team of kids under twelve and took them to first place in the division. It was an interesting experience to be a coach, rather than a player and I enjoyed it very much. I would like to go to a college that allows me to play the game that I love as well as obtain a great education, I realize that both are important. My ideal school has a medium to large population with strong academics. My desired Major in college is Broadcast Journalism and/or Media studies. I see myself going in to the Sports Entertainment Industry after I have attended college. One of my goals is to play professional baseball, and after that, I would like to be a Sportscaster on SportsCenter. I would like to play baseball in college and help lead my team to win a division title and possibly play in the College World Series. I am a teammate who is dependable, and I want to be respected by his teamates and coaches. I want to be part of a team who is commited to playing excellent baseball and can win games and championships. I look forward to being a part of a great organization and having a positive impact on your schools' team. Most importantly, I want to be able to play the sport that I love everyday, and get a quality education, and have fun while doing both.
