Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Chris Glenn Wolf (without an "e"). I've been playing baseball since I was about 5 years old and it has made me into the person I am today. I am competitive, driven, hard-working and all I want to do is to succeed on and off of the baseball field. With whatever I do I want to be the best and want to be the first to accomplish the goal. I get along with all types of people and I try not to be involved with conflicts because all they do is distract me and distractions are not a necessity. I have a great sense of humor and have many types of good friends. I'm not a trouble-maker and I'm not part of the wrong crowd. I'm a team-leader and I've always to tried to pump up the team and to keep us motivated with whatever our goal is. I don't care just about how I do on the field, but how our team does as well. My high school career did not get off to a good start in the classroom or on the field. I wasn't as focused on my education and really messed up. I made the team, however, because of my grades I could not play. I quickly learned from that and decided I wanted to not only play for my high-school team the following year, but also change my habits in the classroom so that if baseball wasn't a possibility in the future, then I could at least have my education. By my Sophomore year I was academically elligible and made the team. However, I had an injury due to some pulled muscles and had muscle tightness that made it difficult to be 100 percent on the field. I recovered from this and spent the entire summer working hard, training and playing with whatever team or people I could. Even if I had to practice alone, I did. I did whatever it took to be 100 percent healthy. Thanks to the hard work and being consistent with the grades, I made the varsity team. This was a big step for me because my freshman year, I was no where near the varsity level. Though I did not come into the season as a starter, I worked my way into the lineup as the DH and did whatever job I had to do to help make our team more successful. After High School, I plan on attending college. I would love to take my game to the next level and learn as much as possible. I want to attend a college preferably in the state of Florida or anywhere in the Southern Region. I hope to become a more skilled player and hopefully go on from there in my baseball career. I do realize that some day my baseball career will end so I do need to have a back-up plan. I want to study Sports Training. Whatever happens, I want my life to be around and involved with athletics and be around sports. I also have studied Spanish for two years with high school and have been accepted to be a part of the Spanish Honors Program next year. I will be taking Pre-AP Spanish and I will possibly use Spanish to help me with my career choice or career alternative. I'm the youngest of two brothers (Tim and Jeff) who have moved away from home. Jeff (the oldest lives in Texas and is a Program Director for a group of Radio Stations in Austin. My other brother, Tim, is disabled and lives in a group home. I live at home with my mother who works as a Radio News Reporter. Her income is not the greatest so therefore I plan on applying for financial aid and other services since I have a reading disability that I might be able to qualify for extra help.
