Jeffery Power Church '15 Recruiting Profile

I started out playing baseball in elementary school and baseball and basketball in middle school. At the end of middle school, 7th grade I started playing football on a spring youth league and fell in love with it. I played quarterback and on a sweep ran a touchdown for 80 yards. I also played tight end but when I started junior high school and tried out, coaches put me on the line because of my size and strength. I played the line, offense and defense during my entire 8th grade football season and only sat out for 5 or 6 plays the whole season. I was able to get several sacks on the quarterback and always pressured him. I never worry about who is trying to block me and always get around them to make tackles. When i'm on offense though, I block and dont let anyone around me and protect the quarterback. I am playing football in 9th and I am working on my speed to get faster to explode off the line. My coach wants me to be a linebacker when I get faster. I want to play football all thru Jr. High and Sr. High school so I can possibly go to college. My dad is a police officer and told me I want to go to college I need to try and get a scholarship. I am a pretty quiet easy going guy with a lot of friends until I get on the football field. I want my team win.
