I am a 6’1” quarterback benching 325 pounds that transferred to the winningest football program in Florida for my senior year. Moving from a 2A prep school to a 6A program, I won the starting position under my fourth administration (due to three coaching changes plus the transfer). We’ve played some of the best teams in Florida and Georgia. My coaches will tell you I get better every week. The last few games I've been putting up around 300 yards a game in total offense (even while playing with a hurt shoulder that has limited my velocity).
I am looking for an opportunity to play for a university with an excellent academic offering, strong in engineering and business; and I am willing to do what it takes to get the job done both on and off the field. I currently have a 1990/1380 SAT score, 700M/680R/610W.
Additional Background:
I have played football since I was nine, and played QB all but two years. I have played at the varsity level for five years and started at QB for four. As a quarterback my strengths are my decision making ability, my toughness, my ability to move the ball forward almost every play, and my willingness to do or learn whatever it takes to get the job done. I have learned under some great coaches. If you talk to any of them they will talk about my leadership and toughness. Most of my coaches will tell you I'm the toughest guy on the field.
Over the summer I hit a few personal bests in my training including a 4.18 shuttle and a 9'10" broad jump. I have received considerable recruiting interest from every camp I attended.
The coaches at 6A Leon High School have been impressed with my ability to lead my teammates in such a short period of time. By the way, three of the teams in the early NCSA Season Highlight video were ranked as high as #17 in Nation (ESPN), #1 in Georgia, and #14 in Florida.
While playing at Maclay school, a fairly new football program, I finished among the Top 10 Juniors in passing yards in Florida (Maxpreps), and was the number 2 passer in our 72 team league. Starting with my freshman year, I was challenged by guys that were older, faster, and taller; and every time I won the job as our starter. My coach at Maclay was a former FSU and NFL receiver and professional sports trainer. He ran a college style offense similar to FSU or WVU. We passed a lot and our offense relied on the QB to make the right reads. It was great training for me.
Over summers, I have coached at several Kids & Pros camps in Atlanta and Tallahassee. Because my father has worked for many years with businesses that train elite athletes, I have had the advantage of working around professional football players. I have been coached by several of the best QB coaches in the country including Chris Weinke, Casey Weldon, Darin Slack, Jimmy Jordan, and Maclay coach Kez McCorvey. (Coach Weldon, Jordan, and McCorvey were all just ranked in the top 20 FSU players of all time.)
In considering me for your program, please be sure to look at my freshman (2008) film. We had a different group of receivers and it shows a totally different style, resulting in me being named to the first team of the Panhandle Conference as well as being ranked by Maxpreps as the top Florida Freshman in both passing and total yards.
