Personal Statement

Hi I'm Grant Branch IV. I am 16 year old, 6’4” and 270 pounds. My junior year is going very well her at Monttini Catholic High school in Lombard Illinois.  We are currently 6-0 and working to win our 5th Class 5A Illinois State Championship.  Montini runs a spread offense that pass about 85% of the time so my left tackle responsibilities are crucial to the success of the team.  On offense I use my quick feet and head movement to scan the field and protect the outside and inside zones.  I’m a quick thinker and adjust fast to defense changing formations. I have not allowed a sack in the last two seasons.

My team used me on 60% of the defensive plays at defensive end and tackle. On defense I’m quick off the ball and I close up my gap on running plays. I recorded seven sacks, forced 3 fumbles and blocked 5 passes in the 10 game season. I pressured the quarterback numerous times. My training regimen has added 20 pounds of muscle during the off season while lowering my 40 yard dash to 4.9.  I will play my senior year at 290lbs, run 4.85 40 yard dash, bench press 450lbs. vertical jump 28” and broad jump 9.5 feet. With my growth I will to continue to protect my quarterback’s blind side and of course help my team win our sixth straight state championship.

I maintain a GPA of 3.3 and on the Honor Roll.  I continue to improve academically an will graduate on the National Honor Society. I know I have been blessed and do a lot of community service after school. The primary thing I am looking for in a university is a great political science and international business programs.  My goals for college is to continue the winning tradition and play on a national championship football team while excelling in my academics so I am be prepared for life after college..
