Personal Statement
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I hope it causes you to see me as a prospective student athlete at your school. I have a great passion for football that started when I first played tackle football at 8 years old. I have paid very close attention to my coaches along the way and feel I have a high football IQ and it has become a competitive strength of mine.
That football IQ and my natural leadership skills allowed me to be the signal caller for my teams defense this past season as a weak side LB in what has been called the "best front seven I have ever seen" by an opposing coach. I have worked very hard in my training and weightlifting to achieve my goal as a starter this past season which ended with a Iowa 4A State Championship title (the top level in the State). I am highly competitive on the game field and play the game very physically as can be seen on my tape.
I attend a Blue Ribbon High School as awarded by the US Department of Education and have a 3.5 GPA in a challenging academic environment. I am a diligent student and feel I will transition to college well. While I am undecided on a major, I want to attend a university that will provide me with the best opportunity to develop skills for a successful career in my chosen field.
My goal is to attend a respected school that has both a strong commitment to academics and athletics on a football scholarship. I believe I have the strong moral character, work ethic, athletic ability, leadership skills and desire to have a successful college career and make an impact in your program.
