I am a strong, quick, versatile student athlete who hopes to play football in a high-level college program. Sports have always complemented my education. I have played football and basketball at top levels, receiving MVP high school team honors in both. Now I am determined to contribute to a competitive program that can offer me a solid education. In football, I have been a high-level contributor, starting both offensively (TE, LT) and defensively (DE) for three years. I am a team captain and have achieved All-League MVP Runner-up, 1st Team All-League, and 2014 Salem News All-Star.
Sports have been an important link to my community. I am dyslexic, so I have gone to Landmark School, which specializes in teaching dyslexic students and where my parents teach. Though I missed my friends during school time, I maintained my connection through youth sports and playing football in town. I have received the best education suited for me, and also participate in the sports I love. For senior year, I have returned to my local school to graduate, and fully be part of the high school as a student and leader of my team.
Also, the priceless value of a community was clear when my father was very sick and eventually needed a heart transplant. During the long stays in a Boston hospital, my teammates’ families rallied to help in countless ways. My dad is fine now, but from this life-changing episode, I learned that playing the games is just part of the experience, and ultimately the team and people are the most important.
My goal is to find a college, where I can have an academic match to complete a degree and have the chance to play football in a highly competitive environment. A great team of players and coaches and an excellent college community would be the best combination to help me for whatever career path I decide.
