Andre Dowdell, Jr '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Andre' Dowdell. I am a junior at Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, NY.  I play slot receiver.  I have been included as a 4 star wide receiver in the Summer 2013 Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report Watch List.  In this past 2013 season our team won the Section III Class AA Championship, and lost in the regional championship finishing at 10-1. I was able to receive 1st team League and 2nd team All CNY honors. I also led my team in receptions and receiving yards. I competed on a team with several Division 1 prospects which includes commitments to Yale and the University of Buffalo thus far.   I am very excited to start my visits and participation in the Junior Days this spring!  I've already begun my off season workouts in order to get stronger and faster in order to lead my team to our 3rd straight run at the Section III Class AA Title!

Academically, I carry an overall 90+ GPA and looking forward to taking the SAT and ACT this spring.  I have made the Aldophus Honor Society. I have been fortunate to have been selected to be a National Scholar at the National Youth Leaders Conference (NYLC) held in Washington, DC.  I was also selected for membership in the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), and nominated for People To People Ambassador Programs. 

I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the field. Right now I'm still considering my options for a major. I push myself to be the best at whatever I attempt to do and consider myself to be very competitive.  Therefore, my goal is to be able to compete at the DI-AA or the DI-A level and make an immediate impact on the team. I will absolutely consider high academic and very competitive DII opportunities.
