My
name is Aaron Beck; I am seventeen and in the class of 2013. I am 6’4” tall, weigh 200 pounds and run a
4.6 in the 40 yard dash. Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and
considering me for the opportunity to play football at your University. My goal is to weigh 245 pounds, win the
Butkus Award and play football in the NFL.
I
have always believed hard work and dedication are important to me achieving my
goals. When I was in the seventh grade I
wanted to go to The Oakridge School, http://www.theoakridgeschool.org, where my
little brother was going to school. So I
begged my mom and told her I would work very hard and promised to make good
grades. I am now in two AP classes and
have over a 3.0 GPA. It has taken a lot
of work and dedication to catch up to those lucky enough to go to this college
preparatory school all of their life but it has been worth it for me! I know how lucky I am.
As
a freshman I made the varsity football, basketball and track teams where I played
receiver, center and ran the hurdles respectively. I learned what it was like to be a full time
athlete and have to work 14 hour days to stay ahead of the pack. Since then my normal day starts in the gym at
7 AM and ends with me coming home around 7 PM when I eat and start studying for
the next day.
During
the summer I worked, spent four to six hours a day in the gym lifting weights/working
on drills, and hung out with my friends.
However, I stayed focused on my body and what is important because I
have goals for high school.
As
a sophomore, I was the starting center on the basketball team and played AAU
basketball for Texas Express where we finished number 6 in the State for Class
of 2013 teams. While running track, I
set a school record with a time of 42 seconds in the 300 meter hurdles, was the
third leg on the 4X100 and the 4X400 and together we set school records. In football, I was still a receiver but I
started to excel as a linebacker and was named the Special Teams MVP for the
most tackles.
After
my sophomore year Head Coach Phillip Farhat and the linebacker Coach Dexter
Coakley, http://www.nfl.com/player/dextercoakley/2500113/profile, asked me
to play offensive tackle and linebacker next year as a starter. I was excited because I love to hit people!
As
a junior, I play every play of every game except for punts, field goals and
extra points. We have not lost a game in
conference and are 7-1 and are the surprise team in the conference where we
expect to go undefeated and win the title.
Three weeks ago Coach Coakley and I were
talking and I decided to become the number one tackler on our team and the
conference. In the last three weeks I
have 29 solo tackles, 10 assisted tackles and 5 sacks and I am only three
tackles behind my teammate who is number one in the conference. I have received the “Big Stick Award” for the
hardest hit twice this year.
After
football this year I will play basketball for Oakridge and then begin training
with a personal trainer for combines and college camps next summer. My intent is to attend three camps, one in
North Texas, one in Oklahoma and one in South Texas.
Even
though I have started the recruiting process late, I intend to be one of the
Top 5 linebackers in Texas next year. I
expect to be 6’5” and weigh 220 pounds of solid muscle as a senior and look
forward to the recruiting journey I am just beginning.
My
NCSA recruiting website is, http://recruit-match.ncsasports.org/fasttrack/client/RecruitingProfile.do?method=getRecruitingProfile&clientID=824547, please
keep coming back because I will update it regularly with stats and video (which
will be up within a week).
Thanks
for your time – I hope to meet you at the camps and combines.
