Football:  I grew up watching Chaparral football, attending my first game as a 2 year old.  I started playing football in 6^th grade on the Westlake Pop Warner team.  Westlake was the Central Texas Champions. Several of my former Pop Warner teammates are currently playing Varsity football with me.  I also played eight-man football in the Springtime as well as 7-on-7 football during the Summer. 

My outstanding quality as a football player is that I manage the game well.  I'm patient and I don't get rattled.  I get the ball to the playmakers, but I can make plays myself when the situation calls for it.  I'm a teamplayer and the guys in the huddle are important to me.  I rather win the game than be the leading offensive player.

I took every snap as the Chaps JV Red quarterback during my Sophomore year leading the team to the JV District Championship.  During my Junior year I was the reserve QB, but I played in every game.  I was regarded as the best non-starting quarterback in District 25 - AAAAA.  Since I was the only Junior boy to letter in three Varsity sports at my high school, I was named an honorable mention in Athlete of the Year recognition.  The award ususally goes to a senior and it did again this year. 

Favorite Football Memory:  Leaping over the head of the defensive safety to score a touchdown during a JV football game against Bastrop High School.

Other sports played:  When I’m not playing football I'm a starting forward for the Westlake Varsity basketball team. I also run track for the Chaps and was the district high jump champion as a freshman, with a leap of 6’ 2”.  I qualified for the State Regional Track Meet this past season with a personal best high jump of 6’4”.  I’m an accomplished Soccer player and played select soccer in the Austin area for many years. 

Other interesting facts: 

I took tap dancing as a youngster, which  helped me with my footwork in sports. 

I played the tuba for 2 years, as well as the trombone while in middle school.

I spend a week each summer repairing and painting homes for low-income, elderly and disabled Texans. 

My favorite pastime is wakeboarding with my teammates on Lake Austin and fishing on Barton Creek.

Academics are a priority for me. I’ve only made one “B” during my high school career (that was in AP English and it was an 89), with the remainder being A's. My current GPA is 98.65.

College Preferences: I would like to attend an academically selective school anywhere in the United States.  I have no geographic preferences because I think that living in other parts of the country should be a part of the college experience. 

Majors of Interest:  I would like to pursue a degree in business.  I'm currently leaning toward finance as my major.  I'm also interested in studying  economics.
