Personal Statement
My name is Derrick Green I currently attend Hermitage High School in Richmond VA I'm a sophomore who plays varsity. I'm a starting running back who averages 8 yard a carry. I made first team all district player this year. My team was all regional champs and our teams record was 13 wins and 1 lost this season. Ive been a varsity player since my freshman year. My awards consist of Ohio State running back MVP award at their 2010 football camp, National Underclassmen Combine fastest man award, strongest man award and the leadership award just to name a few.I never really get caught up with awards I just go hard every time I step on the field I play to win. My current weight 215, height 6 ft ,4.4 in 40 yard dash ,vertical is 27, bench press 290, squat 525. My coach nick named me The Freight because when I run the ball if someone is in my way they come along for the ride to the end zone. I help lead my team to the state championship this year which was a big accomplishment for me and my team because my school had not been to states in 52 years. Some of my best assets are my leaderships skills ,work ethics and determination to succeed and help others along the way. I'm the first person on the field and the last to leave the field. I am the fastest one the team and one of the strongest but one of my goals is to help my team mates all get faster,stronger on the field. One of the thing I created this season was film night on Wednesday's after practice at my house we eat food, break down and study film which was a key part of my teams success this year. Ive been playing football since I was 5 years old and football is not just a game for me its my passion I eat sleep and breath football. My long term goal is to play football in the NFL and I no I will get their with hard work and dedication. My short term goals are to help my team win a state championship next year,graduate high school with honors, and attend a college that will help me obtain a degree in business and get me closer to my goal as a NFL player.
