I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I am currently a senior at Antigo High School, a rural community in Central Wisconsin. Organized sports, strong academics, and community involvement are important to me. I would welcome the prospect of continuing my successes in college.
I started playing youth sports when I was very young: hockey at age three, baseball at five, and league football at nine. I continue to play all three sports competitively. I lettered as a freshman in hockey playing forward. As a sophomore, I lettered as a starting offensive lineman for football, a starting forward in hockey, and as the starting first baseman in baseball. As a junior I did earn All Conference in baseball. However, I am most proud of my accomplishments in football. Last year as a junior I made 2nd Team All-Conference Offense; our team led the conference in rushing. Likewise, I also earned Honorable Mention All-Conference Defense. Although I played defensive end and tackle, I was awarded the honor despite having never started a conference game on defense. I did start both ways in play-offs.
In addition to playing sports, I feel academics are equally vital. I earned High Honors from freshman year to present. I was the only junior to maintain High Honors during our football season. My schedule is rigorous and encompasses Advanced Placement and weighted classes. My current cumulative GPA is 4.15 on a 4 point scale.. Math and sciences interest me the most. My goal is to maintain High Honors and play three varsity sports. Likewise, I aspire to earn high marks while playing college football.
Also, involvement in our community is of significance to me. In my school community, I have been involved in Student Council, Class President for two years, Key Club, A-Club, and Spanish Club. I am a member of the National Honor Society and a Safe School Ambassador. I have volunteered my time to chaperone elementary school field trips and used my study hall to work with cognitively disabled students. I belong to the Antigo Youth Hockey Association where I volunteer at various youth tournaments and the Antigo Dugout Club where I work as an umpire for Little League games. Also, I am a member of the American Legion baseball team and have participated as a State finalist. I am an active participant in community events, and I intend to become involved in my college community.
My hope is that I would get the opportunity to meet you in person and show you my skills. Feel free to contact my head coach/defensive coordinator: [email protected] , assistant coach: [email protected], offensive coordinator: [email protected]. I hope you feel that I would benefit your team. Your time is much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Blake Kirsch
