Aspiring to start a new legacy in my family, I started playing hockey at the age of six, when I first discovered the local ice rink next to my house in Northern Virginia. Going to, and competing at a collegiate level school is a once in a lifetime opportunity that would bring great pride and honor to my family. Being taught discipline and respect at an early age, I always obey my coaches, striving to help the team function together as a whole unit, leading by example with hard work, and perseverance. Maintaining a positive attitude in all situations, I believe that to achieve any goal, you must believe. After starting the beginning chapter of my hockey career in Virginia, I then moved here to New York, willing to carry out my hockey career at a higher level of play, competition, and training. I just most recently signed to play with the Rochester Monarchs 18UAAA organization in the USPHL where I will billet my senior year of high school. I decided to billet my senior year away from home this year to help me raise my level of competition by specializing in hockey, becoming a more well rounded athlete, and furthering my education at a better school.
Maintaining a high level of competitiveness on the ice and school work are the two most important things in my life. During middle school in Virginia, I maintained High Honor Roll Status for all four years, then moving on to high school in Western New York. Here in Akron, I recently completed my junior year with a 4.1 GPA taking place in all available honor and AP classes, receiving high honor roll the past 4 semesters. I now participate in the Student Body Council as a member at large and am part of the interact club. To stay in shape during the off-season, I play Varsity Lacrosse, where we recently won our third straight section 6 championship as the #1 ranked team in WNY, and the highest scoring team in the nation. I spend most of my free time with my personal trainer at the gym, shooting pucks, moving lumber and landscaping on our family farm, or volunteering at youth hockey camps and my little brothers practices. With my busy life, I am already willing to do whatever it takes to get to the next level. I would like to attend a college where I can compete not only on the ice but in the classroom. I only hope to become a great role model and honor my parents and peers.
