Jacob Fleckenstein '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Jacob Fleckenstein and I am looking forward to my senior year at Dallastown Area High School located in York, Pa. I am 6'3" and weigh 185 lbs. During this past football season, I ran the 40 yd dash in 4.6 seconds.   I feel that I am a goal driven individual; whether on the sports field or in the classroom. My determination has benefited me scholastically, as I am taking advanced placement classes. This mindset has also helped me achieve honor roll status in the past. My resolve in the sports arena has also propelled me to have been a starter on my varsity lacrosse team since my freshman year, as a long pole defense man.  In 2009-2010, as a sophomore, I received All County honorable mention and as a Junior, I received All County 2nd Team for the YAIAA league.
     In 2008, I attended Lacrosse camps at Loyola College in Maryland  and the Naval Academy in Annapolis in 2009.  Over this past summer I have played on the Blue Mountain lacrosse tournament team, and attended many events for the summer 2011 season; Lava Lax, Lehigh Lax Festival, Ultimate Performance, Summer Sizzle, and Champ Camp. 
     My goals are set pretty high  for myself and my team, and I always strive to win, play well and enjoy the game. I have also gone on several mission trips with my church youth group, as well as volunteering in my community with the local Parks and Recreation. Currently, I am a Lifeguard with the YMCA. My goal for the future is to become a general surgeon. I realize this will take a huge commitment on my part, as well as a large amount of money. Unfortunately, my family does not have all the money needed for me to receive this education, so I would need use of the financial aid system.
     The eastern region of the United States is where I would preferably like to go, as it is close to my hometown. I do not have a preference to the size and type of school, but I would like a school with a solid reputation for their pre-med or biology based programs. I am fairly open as to where I go to school, but would like to be at the highest level of competition for myself and my abilities. Sincerely~ Jacob Fleckenstein
