Personal Statement
I am a student athlete; a rising sophomore a 4.0 student in the National Honor Society; and pride myself on reporting that fact. My mottos are … Academics.Athletics.Excellence. AND Eat.Sleep.Ball.REPEAT!!! It’s what I live by!
My dreams, goals and aspiration is obtain a good education at an univeristy/college and to play, play, play ball, play the game (basketball) that I love the most on the next level. I hope to be a Sport Psychologist/School Guidance Counselor; I would like to be that person that TRULY shows the youth that I care, and that I can help and will guide then towards their academic and/or sports goals...
I would like for share my experiences and accomplishment in 2011-2012:
My 2011-2012 high school basketball seasons ended up 12-10; we played well as team; in addition to having played against some of the best competition in the Western Pennsylvania area; I grew as a player and teammate. In preparation for the 2012 AAU Season; I ran on my high school Track team and I am pleased to inform you; this too went very well. I ran the 100, 200, 400, and 4X1 meter. I did so well that I made it to the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) Championship (May 17, 2012) for the 100 and 400 meters and ran my personal best in both events. As a Freshman I finished in 15th in the 100-meter semi-finals with a time of 13.21 and ninth in the 400-meter finals with a time of 61.05; and that's something I will build on for next year. I am also a volunteer with the 1 to 1 peer mentoring program at Carlynton High School’s Best Buddies International; and with the PA Special Olympics of Allegheny County Athletic Activities for schools from the surrounding area as a volunteer coach under the direction of Maggi Mishkin at Carlynton High School.
