Personal Statement

I'm always the most competitive person on my team.  I hate to lose but when I do I try to get better.  Winning isn't everything but it is to me!  That's why I play.  All through my career I have shown that I can play with higher calibre teams.  I played with boys my whole life (until last year) and I have been a key player on every team I have played on.  I was scouted to play aboriginal provincials and I am used to playing with many different teams and getting along with many different people.  I am the captain of my hockey team and we have just made it through first round of playoffs.  As well, I am a top scorer on my basketball team and competing in play offs.  I was chosen for Team ALberta to play in the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships May 1 - 7, 2017 ...The NAHC provides an annual forum for elite midget age male and female Aboriginal hockey players from across Canada to compete with one another, as well as offering an opportunity to celebrate cultural unity and pride. The Championships are delivered in an all-star format with top players selected to compete on behalf of their province or territory. Teams competing at the 2017 NAHC include British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Eastern Door and the North (Quebec), Atlantic, and the North. Approximately 450 players, coaches, and team staff are expected to participate in Cowichan.  Presently I play defense for the Lloydminster Steelers AAA female midget team and live in Lloydminster, AB.  So far this season we are enjoying a lot of success - taking gold at the Mandy Schwartz tournament in Regina and the beginning of December and finishing with a 4-1 record putting us 8th out of 44 teams in mid November in Ontario at the Nation's Cup.

I played in the Alberta Female Provincials in March and then joined Team Caanda in Sydney, Nova Scotia at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in May.  This fall, I will be joining the Northern Alberta Xtreme Midget Hockey Prep School in Edmonton, Alberta playing in the CSSHL
