Personal Statement
Aloha! My name is Lillie Klemmer. I am entering into my senior year (Class of 2016) at Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
I play competitively at middle or outside hitter. I play all the way around. I have a great serve and a complete game with open-division, high-level skills at blocking, passing and hitting. I love volleyball. In Hawaii we have a lot of smaller players and so I often play in the middle where we run a fast game with quick sets and step-outs.
High School:
My first year on the varsity team at Punahou School, in my sophomore year, we finished 2nd place in the 2013 Hawaii State Championships. This past year I was the starting middle blocker and we won 1st place in the Hawaii State Championships. This season was very memorable.
Club:
My club team is Ka Ulukoa. I have played every game as a starter with coach Larry Tuileta for the past 5 years. Our team qualified for the USAV National Championships in the open division 4 of the past 5 years. 2014 was our best finish; 15th place in the open division. This past season we placed 5th in the club division.
Beach:
I started playing competitive beach volleyball this year. I am competing in the 18s age group at the AAU National tournament in Hermosa Beach this July. I love volleyball and enjoy beach play as a way to cross-train. I play beach volleyball for the Extreme Fitness club under the coaching of Tanya Anderson. Tanya is also my High School coach.
Playing on the sand has really helped my overall game, especially my defensive game. I will get film up soon!
I have a passion for volleyball and couldn't imagine life without it. I am looking forward to playing competitively at the collegiate level. I am pursuing great schools where I can fully apply my athletic and academic talents. I am focused on training hard with a commitment to success.
