Emily Speciale '19 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goal and dream is to play volleyball at a college that has the field I would like to study in, which is environmental science. I am a good candidate for your team because I work hard, never give up, and have a positive attitude. Not only do I put in 100% effort on the court, but I also put 100% effort into school.

One thing that makes me stand out from other recruits is that I am very good at excelling under stress, which means that I will be able to do well with both volleyball and school on my plate. I have a very determined personality that gets me far. I connect with my teammates and will support them when they are feeling down.

I am also different from some other recruits in that I am a natural athlete. Setting came along naturally for me, as I have been setting since I was 11. However, I continue to work hard because I know that I still have a lot to learn. I am constantly ready to learn new skills and always will try to implement whatever my coaches tell me. It also is very beneficial that I am a tall setter, and I use that to my advantage when at the net.

Academically, I excel in my STEM program with a 4.48 GPA while taking challenging courses such as AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP Statistics, AP Environmental Science and AP Human Geography. I will be very grateful upon being recruited and will not take it for grant it.  To be at an amazing college, preparing for a career I am passionate about while playing the sport I love will be a dream come true!
