    What the Coaches are Saying...
    Sep 11, 2018

“At Lake Michigan College, a D2 community college, we look to help players advance on the court, in the classroom, and as people. Over the past two seasons we have had 10 sophomores, all who have been on track to complete their associates degrees giving them the best opportunities to transfer to any institution that has interest. On the court we are primarily a pack line man to man defensive team and a motion based offense. We modify our motion to fit our personal, typically playing 4 around 1 or 3 around 2, but at times playing 5 out offensively to allow players skills to be showcased. Players must be unselfish in our system to allow our movement and spacing to create the best opportunities. We look to recruit a variety of skill sets in players. Athleticism in our league is valuable, but the right understanding of the game and solid fundamentals are always valued and can level the playing field. As a community college with an open admissions policy we can meet the academic needs of any student athlete as long as they are dedicated to putting in the necessary effort to be successful as people, students, and athletes.”
