“Hello ! My name is Michael Veverka, M.Ed., PGA (Coach V) and I am the Head Golf Coach at the University of Lynchburg. After reviewing your NCSA profile and seeing your career aspirations, I think you would fit in great at Lynchburg! I hope you take some time to look over the information about Lynchburg College and our golf program in this email. We are a program with a bright future and I believe you could help us achieve the goals we have set forth. You have a high degree of talent and I believe you could become one of the top players in our conference and region. This is a unique institution and excellent experience and I hope you consider the opportunity to become a student-athlete at the University of Lynchburg during your college search. Lynchburg is a private university located in Lynchburg, Virginia with a student body of around 2,500 representing 37 states and 9 foreign countries. We have gained national recognition as an institution that offers quality educational opportunities while building the character and leadership ability of its students. We are currently in the process of transitioning to the University of Lynchburg with lots of awesome changes and growth. Needless to say, it is an exciting time to be a Hornet! You will have a range of options when it comes to finding an area of study as we offer 39 majors, 52 minors, and 13 pre-professional programs. The school offers large academic scholarships and 96% of students receive financial aid and 70% receive an academic award. University of Lynchburg is a Division III school and has been a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) since it was established in 1976. We take pride in our athletics but make sure that our student-athletes succeed in the classroom as well as in competition by offering a wide variety of resources such as a faculty advisor for each team, study hall hours, and tutors. The Lynchburg Golf Program has a prestigious history with 6 ODAC Championships, 4 USA South Conference Titles, 2 Mason-Dixon Conference Titles, 7 All-Americans, and 2 Academic All-Americans. We are a young program with our goals of capturing the ODAC Conference Title and advancing to the NCAA National Championship each year. We have a staff that is very energetic and excited to recruit and develop top-level players. I myself competed in Division I college golf and have been working as PGA Class “A” Teaching professional in all of my previous positions. The golf team and Hornet Athletic Department also employ the vast knowledge of Dr. Tiffany Jones, PhD, a fantastic and nationally renowned sport psychologist. She has worked with many sports , with an emphasis in golf, from the collegiate to professional ranks. With the knowledge and enthusiasm of the coaching staff, we have the ability to be a dominant force in DIII golf.
