    What the Coaches are Saying...
    Sep 11, 2018

“Katie Moulton tabbed to lead cross country, track & field programs DUDLEY, Mass. – Nichols College Director of Athletics Chris Colvin has named Katie Moulton head coach of the men's and women's cross country and track & field programs. Moulton was a four-year member of the cross country and indoor & outdoor track & field programs at Providence College, serving as captain of the indoor track and field team in 2004-05 and the 2005 cross country team. She was a scoring member of the third-place cross country team at the 2004 NCAA Division I National Championships and also placed fourth at the 20045 BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 10,000m. Currently the Associate Director of Enrollment for Student Success & Retention and Adjunct Professor at Nichols, Moulton has previously worked at Chariho High School (2013-15) as an assistant with the indoor & outdoor track & field coach and was also a running coach and personal trainer (2013-15) at Core Fitness Studio. "Katie Moulton is uniquely qualified to coach the Nichols cross country and track teams," said Colvin. "She was and continues to be an exceptional distance runner and has the coaching skills, knowledge, and desire to take these programs to the next level. Katie understands Nichols College and its mission and will work tirelessly to use the cross country and track programs to help Nichols College be a college of choice for business and leadership education as well as Division III athletics." Moulton – who holds a USA Track & Field Level 1 Coaching Certification in track & field – is an avid runner who won both the Providence and Cape Cod Marathon in 2013. She was selected as part of New England's Finest Program at the ING Hartford ½ Marathon in 2011 (placed third), 2012 (placed fourth), and 2012 (placed second). "I am excited for the opportunity continue to develop and grow the Nichols College men's and women's cross country and track teams," said Moulton. "I look forward to sharing my passion for running with the Nichols College community." Moulton replaces Misael Fossas, who was named head coach in 2012 when the programs were re-introduced at the varsity level. "I would like to thank Misa Fossas for the work he did to relaunch the Nichols cross country & track programs over the past three years in a part-time capacity," said Colvin. "As we look toward the future of the cross country and track programs, we are pleased to now run these programs under the guidance of a full-time employee of Nichols College." A native of Albany, N.Y., Moulton was an eight-time New York High School State Champion in cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master's Degree in guidance & counseling, both from PC. She resides in Providence, R.I. with her husband, Patrick.”
