What the Coaches are Saying...
Sep 11, 2018

“I wanted to introduce myself quickly as the new women’s lacrosse coach at Thomas College. My name is Peri West and I am not going to bore you with my coaching details, like the 10 plus years in collegiate coaching experience I have and that I am the head coach of the Colombia National Team, you can just look that up online. I wanted to tell you today why I choose to move to Maine and take over the program at Thomas College. Because, just like you are searching for the right fit for next year, I was doing the same! And I know……There are a lot of really good colleges out there. A couple reasons I choose to come to Thomas: • Beautiful campus and great athletic facilities: Two beautiful turf fields, a field house for indoor play and various weight training options and classes • A great community. Community within the team, within the athletics program, even within the entire school. It’s really neat, and I haven’t seen it in many other colleges. • Great classes. Our graduates are extremely successful (94% employment rate), and a large reason for that is our small, personalized classes. The beautiful state of Maine: • Make the 30-minute drive to the Great Pond Marina • Head over to Portland, Maine’s largest city, or Augusta, the state’s capital. Experience the rich culture of Maine firsthand. • The great beaches of Maine are only an hour away and offer all kinds of activities year round. Lacrosse: • I want to win a conference championship! I think that runs in our DNA as athletes huh? I know we will do that here at Thomas! And I would love to tell you why and how! So are you the type of lacrosse athlete I am looking for? 1. A competitor 2. A great teammate 3. Someone that wants to make an impact on a college team as a freshman 4. Coachable and athletic minded If you are this type of player and want a school that is full of community and great opportunity, then consider Thomas and reach out to me! Coach West Thomas College”
