“University of Virginia’s College at Wise adding Women’s lacrosse to their list of sports they offer this past summer, 2014. We will begin to compete in the 2014-2015 school year! We are a Division 2 program and will be competing in the new Mountain East Conference in the Spring of 2015. UVA Wise is located among beautiful mountains in Wise County, VA, UVA-Wise is the only branch of the University of Virginia; this means attending UVA-Wise will earn you a true UVA education. There are approximately 2,100 students who attend UVA-Wise and enjoy the small, intimate setting of a private school while paying state school tuition which is under $18,000 for Virginia residents and $32,000 for out of state residents per year including room and board. The University offers many different majors including Business, Nursing, and Education, among others. Please take a minute to visit both the main website (http://www.wise.virginia.edu) & the athletic website (http://www.uvawisecavs.com) to check out for yourself what the University has to offer—specifically the courses of study and state-of-the-art athletic facilities for an incredibly affordable education, not only for Virginia residents, but for out of state students as well. You can view a video of the facilities by going to this site: (http://www.uvawisecavs.com/f/Facilities/Facilities.php). Our team will be competing and practicing on the Beaty Richmond Turf Field at Carl Smith Stadium, and our private locker room will be located in the field house right next to the turf field, which I have the pleasure of personally designing. I would also encourage you to visit the UVA-Wise Admissions page on Facebook which has a ton of pictures of the beautiful campus! (https://www.facebook.com/uva.admissions?fref=ts). If UVA-Wise strikes an interest in you please email me back so we can take the next steps in the recruiting process by getting you on campus in the near future.”
