Personal Statement

It has always been a goal of mine to go to college and in addition to that, play baseball at that level. I believe I can be a valuable asset to any team because I strive hard to be a leader on and off the field. I don't cut corners and work hard at everything I do. I am very involved in my home church, Desperation Church. There I serve as a leader in our student ministry. Academically, I am predominately an all "A" student with an occasional "B". My grades are very important to me so I make it a priority to make time to study outside of sports. I would love to have the opportunity to play baseball in college. I will continue to work hard and hopefully one day make that happen.

CLASS RATING SS/RHP POSITION PROJECTION 10/01/2023 - National Showcase - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Caleb is a talented 6ft 1/165 SS/RHP in the 2025 class. He recently impressed scouts with his actions on the field. Defensively, he has quick feet and moves with agility to cover his defensive zone by taking excellent angles to the baseball. Displays an athletic and squared fielding position with strong glove presentation. Redirects the baseball with quick and clean actions. Arm plays at 84 velo and is on-line to his targets. Working to understand the speed of the runner and using an internal clock will help him control his aggressive actions at times. On the mound, he shows solid feel for 3 pitches and works with great tempo and rhythm. Uses a high 3 qtr. release that is loose and clean. His FB runs well at 74-6 and pounds the zone. His CB shapes at 11-5 with an excellent tunnel through the zone. His CH has FB arm speed and ranges at 66. At the plate, he likes to be aggressive and attack the baseball. Swings with intent from a tall athletic stance. Uses a squared stride and his timing is smooth. Stays inside his feet and gets his backside through. Path is direct and on-plane. Overall, Caleb is a solid two-way prospect with a bright future. 07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Caleb continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and displays proper footwork in squaring balls up. Hands are clean presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 77 mph. Fastball showed a range of 76-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a great teammate and is very coachable on the field. 03/19/2023 - National Showcase - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Caleb is a 2025 SS/RHP prospect with a tall, athletic frame. At short, he shows off quick, active feet and range to all angles. He gets to a ton of ground balls and makes all of the routine plays. He gets in a squared, low fielding position and presents his hands out in front. His exchange is clean and he throws with momentum towards his target. Arm action in the infield is loose and actions overall are very athletic. At the plate, he starts with a squared, athletic stance. He works hard to keep his load simple and does a great job of keeping his head down on the ball. His lower half works through the baseball and he sprays line drives to all fields. On the mound, Caleb starts with good balance over the rubber. He squares off to the target and rotates well through the pitch. His FB has signs of command. CB features medium break and he's able to throw it for strikes. He does a great job of throwing his CH with FB arm speed, and it has some late run. Excited to see Caleb's development with a couple more years of high school ball!
